Monday Blues – Why The Monday Blues Are Totally Okay
It seems as though Monday gets a pretty bad rep most of the time.
Seeing as it’s the first day of the week, some people probably hate that the weekend is over, and that it’s time to get back to work. Personally, I actually like Mondays. I prefer them over Tuesdays most of the time! As much as I love weekends and time off, I really like having a routine and going to work is a pretty big part of it.
I don’t normally get the Monday blues like some people, since Monday just means I get to start fresh and tackle whatever is ahead of me for the week.
My parents were visiting over the weekend, so it was definitely a lot harder to get up and go to work this morning, but once I accepted the fact that they were gone and that I had a job to do, I’m actually glad I’m at work. Not because I don’t miss my parents (I totally do, and I almost stayed at home and laid in bed all day), but because jumping back into a routine, or work after being off and out and about for a while is kind of nice.
I was obviously upset when they left, and I totally had a human moment after they drove off, but being at the office is relaxing and is helping me distract myself from overthinking and all that fun stuff.
So all in all, this Monday is not too shabby. It could have been a lot worse, but getting back into the swing of things was definitely needed.
Do you have a favourite day? Do you hate Mondays?
