Traveling And Visiting More Cities Than Ever Before
I’ve always loved traveling and visiting new places. I usually don’t stray too far, except on special occasions
such as when I traveled to Europe in high school, or went to Las Vegas with my parents and sister. I’m fine with traveling to near-by cities. It’s still a getaway, and it’s a chance to explore.
I moved out on my own and to a new city in January of this year, and since then, I’ve already visited four cities (one being my home-city), and I have another trip planned for October. I’ve had the chance to visit Toronto for a few days since my boyfriend’s band had a show and I got to tag along. I also recently went to Philadelphia and New York for a Coldplay concert, and I’ll be returning to New York state for a Switchfoot concert. I’ll probably also make a weekend trip to Montreal at some point since it’s only a few hours away.
Although I always knew I wanted to travel, I just assumed I would be too broke to do it, especially this early on into living on my own. The fact that I’ve had the chance to take a bunch of weekend trips in a somewhat short amount of time has been so wonderful, and it lets me escape my day-to-day life for a few days.
Visiting Philadelphia and New York, although short-lived, was really fun and it was nice to see unfamiliar cities. The best part of that trip however was definitely seeing Coldplay. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I’m so grateful I got to experience it with a man that I love and his family.
Funny enough, all of the trips that I’ve been on this year, except going back home to graduate, have been with my boyfriend haha. It’s definitely made the trips that much better, especially if it’s to a city we’ve both never seen.
My next trip in October will also be with Alex and his family, and seeing Switchfoot (a band I don’t really listen to, but that Alex loves) will be amazing. And if I’m honest, the part I’m looking forward to the most is seeing his reaction to seeing his favourite band live.
I love travelling, especially with other people. I know that some people think that you should travel alone at least once in your life, but I don’t really believe in that. I like to share moments with people, and if I’m seeing something for the first time, I think it’s even better if I get to do it with someone/people I love. If I had the chance to do something amazing alone or with someone else, I would definitely do it with someone else. But that’s just me.
I’m hoping that the following years will bring me on even more adventures, and hopefully more exciting ones! I’m definitely looking forward to the future and whatever plan that has been laid out for me.
